Collection: Mild pigmentation

Mild pigmentation refers to slight skin discoloration, often due to sun exposure, post inflammatory hyperpigmentatin (after injury to skin such as acne, cuts,or burns), hormonal change (skin discoloration during pregnancy or during use of birth control), or skin irritation to skincare products. It can appear as small dark spots, freckles, or patches of uneven skin tone.

Fortunately, mild pigmentation can be treated with a combination of brightening ingredients like Vitamin C, niacinamide, and alpha arbutin, as well as regular exfoliation, sunscreen use, and sometimes stronger treatments like retinoids or hydroquinone for more stubborn spots.

Which products should you use to treat mild pigmentation?

Brightening Serums: Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Alpha Abutin, Licorice Extract.

Chemical Exfoliants (AHAs/BHAs): Use according to your skin type. Avoid strong strong exfoliators when you have PIE (Post Infammatory Erythema), a temporary redness or flushing of the skin after inflammation.

Sunscreen: Essential to prevent further pigmentation. Sunscreen prevents darkening of existing spots and new pigmentation.

Retinoids: Promote cell turnover, reducing pigmentation and encouraging skin renewal to fade dark spots.

Moisturize: Moisturizing ensures that the skin remains hydrated, which is important for the healing process. If the skin is dry or dehydrated, it may not heal pigmentation spots as efficiently. Hydrated skin also tends to look plumper and more radiant.
